I was getting ready to go out with friends, wearing the only top I could find that hid my bloated belly, when my boyfriend asked me “Why are you wearing that? Isn’t that the kind of top fatter girls wear to hide their stomach?” That is when I realised I had stopped being the fit, confident person I used to be and had become the unhappy, unhealthy person who looked at me in the mirror each morning. I didn’t want to go out, I didn’t want to buy new clothes and I certainly didn’t want my boyfriend to see me without sucking in my stomach, I think I was even holding my breath in my sleep!

My diet consisted of McDonalds, Chicken Treat, Chooks, Hungry Jacks....all in one day!

It was my own fault. My diet consisted of McDonalds, Chicken Treat, Chooks, Hungry Jacks and any deli food I could get my hands on, and this was all IN ONE DAY. I would tell myself I would stop eating junk food and exercise, but would cave and eat something I knew was only making me feel worse about myself within days. The way I was living was making me unhappy, but I did not know how to change my lifestyle. I even signed up for an online program, but was disappointed when the information I received for my money was minimal and didn’t really help me at all!

I had read about Ideal Bodies Online, and had even nearly signed up years before, but I was one of those “Skinny-Fat” girls. Clothes could hide my lumps and bumps pretty well, and even now friends and co workers cannot believe I was as big as I was. I kept talking myself out of signing up “It is too much money” “I could just buckle down and lose weight myself” or “I’m not really THAT unfit”.

When I finally took the plunge and signed up, I didn’t look back. My program was so easy to understand and answered all of my questions, and my Feedback coach was always there to help me if I got a little lost. I cleared my house of anything that would tempt me, stocked up with all the recommended food and got myself organised for the 12 weeks ahead. I found that by making all my food on the Sunday and freezing it, I took away the temptation to stray, because everything was already set in my food diary. After eating so much junk and living on red bull, I was honestly expecting to find it hard to eat the food my program suggested. But something amazing happened, I loved it! It was like this was what my body had been waiting for, and once the energy from all this nutritional food hit me, I found exercise enjoyable as well. I found I enjoyed the weights program and as long as I planned ahead, I was hitting all my targets.

I dropped two dress sizes - from a 10-12 to a 6-8!

Halfway through the program, I found that I had to buy new work pants, and by the end of the 12 weeks I had dropped 2 dress sizes, going from a 10-12 to a 6-8!  When it came time to take my after pictures I felt so confident and healthy and couldn’t wait to show off all my hard work.  My work pants would not even stay up anymore and people couldn’t believe they used to fit me (and snugly).

The most important thing that happened during the program wasn’t that I lost weight or looked better in my bikini, it was the change in my view of food and exercise. With the help of everyone at Ideal Bodies Online, I learnt the habits I needed to become the confident, healthy person I knew I was. The program wasn’t hard, once I started it made sense, and I thrived on it. Now I know the right choices to make and more importantly I know WHY they are the right choices. Friends who started fitness programs at the same time did not achieve results anywhere near mine, and they ate less and exercised more!

My addiction during the program:

Scrambled eggs made with egg whites, one whole egg, a dash of milk and organic salt. Microwave for 2 minutes.

Serve with 2 wholemeal muffins and avocado.
