Denise Lawry

For five years I have struggled unsuccessfully with my increasing weight. I have tried everything including numerous diets, naturopathic remedies and expensive personal training sessions yet my weight never seemed to change or worse, slowly crept upwards. I had formerly been a slim distance runner but when injury reduced my running kilometres, the kilograms steadily piled on, and held on tenaciously. I was constantly miserable and unhappy with myself. My clothes size also increased from a size 10 to a 14, with 16 looming perilously close.

Recently, browsing through a magazine, my attention was drawn to the Ideal Bodies Online 12 week challenge and Body Blitz competitions. The many stories of amazing transformations made me decide to give the program a try. Despite being initially rather sceptical that I could achieve anything as impressive, having been disappointed so often and knowing that I was older than most of those shown on the website, I listened to Sue’s advice to persevere and finish the entire 12 weeks.

"To my delight, I was rewarded with a steady weight loss each week.  I became more toned and fitter and slowly was able to ease back into jogging."

"The 12 weeks passed rapidly and were extremely enjoyable."

The program that Kristin put together for me was a blend of cardio, strength training and diet.  I found the strength training somewhat difficult at times as I performed the exercises at home and felt that perhaps sometimes did not push myself as hard as I could have.  However, despite these misgivings, I noticed a steady increase in my strength and the weights that I was able to use.

Preparation was definitely the key, and I would always take my lunch, packed the previous evening, to work and ensure that I had sufficient ingredients at home for all meals. I developed a passion for Slim Secrets mint flavoured protein bars as occasional treats, as they became a healthier substitute for my beloved chocolate. Oatmeal with blueberries and vanilla protein powder became my favourite breakfast choices.

As soon as I received a new workout program, I printed out the exercises, stapled them together, labelled according to area of the body that was being worked, and studied the form as I warmed up on my treadmill. That way I was always prepared for the workout session and didn’t waste time trying to determine how to do the exercise.

Water consumption was essential for success. I noticed that lower water intake correlated directly with lower weight loss. My favourite recipe included a delicious omelette made with a complete egg, 3 egg whites, and low fat fetta cheese whisked together with a little water, together with sautéed mushrooms and spinach.

The combination of a food and exercise journal, together with regular communication with my Feedback Coach, Hilary, also contributed to my success.

"It was great to have someone to talk to, who encouraged me at all times and understood what I was experiencing.'"

I have lost nearly 9 kg, and numerous centimetres. I feel much more alive with greater energy. I can fit back into some of my smaller clothes. I have regained my love of running and am currently training for a Half Marathon in July this year. I have decided to undertake a further 12 weeks to lose those last few kilograms.

"I am deeply grateful to Sue, Hilary and Kristin for their wonderful, life-changing program. Words cannot express how delighted I am to now be back in control of my life and health."

Testimonial from Denise:

Thanks Sue, it has been a wonderful 12 weeks! I am just about to start on a 2nd program. Your program is fantastic and has been the light at the end of a rather dark and dreary tunnel that I have been in for the last three or four years, struggling unsuccessfully to lose weight, yo-yo dieting and generally feeling very miserable. I can now look at myself in the mirror and like what I see. I am a much happier person, and certainly fitter. I am training for a half marathon in July.

So I cannot thank you enough for providing me with this winning formula which obviously combines the perfect balance of diet, strength training and cardio.

Best wishes,

Denise
